“About a year and half ago, I had to personally take time off work to deal with the 19year old fibroids I had lived with. My menstrual flow became even more heavy, and I was using a pack of 7 sanitary pads per day during my monthly flow. I would rush home from work to avoid the embarrassment of blood-stained cloth.

“Afraid, scared, unsure, I visited my gynecologist several times, researched my options, read other women’s stories of their battle with fibroids online. Finally, I took a bold step to doing a hysterectomy.

“Out of that pain and post-surgery recovery period I wrote my book, ‘Fighting Fibroid’. I literarily penned down the account while recovery from the surgery and it was no mean feat. These were days I could barely walk or eat much but I needed to keep writing so I don’t forget the details. I am glad I pushed myself with the help of God to keep at it through the gloomy and tough days of my healing period.
