Yoruba Nation Activist, Sunday Igboho Reacts To Saturday’s Invasion Of Oyo Govt. Secretariat
Following the invasion of the Oyo State government Secretariat by some armed men suspected to be Yoruba Nation agitators, foremost Yoruba Nation advocate, Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho has detached himself from the incident.
Chief Adeyemo said that he doesn’t have a hand in the invasion.
The invasion which was reported in the early hours of Saturday was said to have been carried out by armed men in army camouflage who were seen hoisting the Yoruba Nation flag and various accessories.
According to reports, the invaders were said to have made an attempt to take over the Governor’s office and the House of Assembly complex but were repelled through the combined effort of the Nigerian Police, Civil Defence, Operation Burst, and Amotekun.
Chief Sunday Igboho who is a known leader of the Yoruba Nation agitation said that proper investigation should be carried out to fish out the people behind the attack and their sponsors.
According to Igboho, governor Seyi Makinde should carry out thorough investigation to ascertain the motive of the invasion and the people behind it should be arrested and prosecuted.
Igboho further reiterated his commitment to the peace and security of the Yorubaland, noting that he would never be part of anything whatsoever that can disturb the peace of the the region.
