Super star Asisat Oshoala on Thursday jubilate her goal against the Women FIFA World Cup co host, Australia, removing her jersey in celebration of the feat
Oshoala was however given a yellow card booking for removing the jersey.
Recall there were speculations that Oshoala will not appear to play for the match against Australia because of a knock she got on the head during a game against Canada, perhaps her reason for celebrating the goal in such manner.
However, The Super Falcons of Nigeria boosted their chances of qualifying for the round of 16 at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World cup with a 3 – 2 victory over Co-host Australia.
Emily van Egmond had given Australia the lead in the dying minutes of the first half, but Nigeria responded almost immediately through Uchenna Kanu.
In the second half, the Super Falcons stepped up their game as they took the lead in the 65th minute through Osinachi Ohale, before Super star Azeezat Oshoala scored in the 72nd minute to make it 3-1.
However, Alanna Kennedy reduced the deficit with a headed goal in the 100th minute as the game ended 3-2.
The Super Falcons now have four points and sits top of Group B.
