Wife Allegedly Stabs Husband To Death In Oyo

Odunayo Olumale, a self-confessed killer who stabbed her husband to death, has been paraded by the Nigeria Police Force’s Oyo state command.

Olumale, the suspect, was paraded among other alleged criminals who had been detained for a variety of offenses, including armed robbery, cultism, burglary, abduction, and other crimes related to crime.

According to the police public relations officer in Oyo State, Mr. Adewale Osifeso, Ismaila Tijani alleged that his wife Odunayo had fatally stabbed his son Olamilekan Salaudeen at the Durbar Divisional Police Headquarters.

Mr Osifeso said Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased and his wife returned to their house at Oko-Oba area of Oyo town  after three months of separation. The deceased made a move to have sexual intimacy with his wife but was rejected.

He claimed that the rejections precipitated a struggle during which the deceased grabbed and threw his wife’s phone to the ground. The deceased was then stabbed in the chest in retaliation, which ultimately resulted in his death.

Other defendants who were paraded and who also admitted to the charges brought against them blamed the bad economy for their criminal deeds.

The state’s police public relations officer, Mr. Adewale Osifeso, said the arrests were made possible by the efforts of brave officers and information gathered from the general public while parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Eleyele Ibadan.

He mentioned that the command has planned a deliberate strategy to put an end to ongoing kidnapping cases and all other forms of criminality in order to restore citizens’ confidence in the system, particularly as the nation moves closer to the ember time.

He continued by saying that the Command’s security architecture has been purposefully adjusted to fully satisfy the security aspirations of the citizens of the State as the State and the entire nation gear up for the lead-up to the 2023 General Elections.

“it is worthy of noting that, the week ahead would be characterized with loads of strategic meetings and the symbolic signing of the Peace Accord agreement, a recognizance document binding Political Actors and their Supporters into being of good conduct before, during and after the process”

Meanwhile, the Command has called on the public to adhere strictly to the dictates of the 2022 Electoral Act and other relevant legal instruments and at the same time appealed against destruction of billboards, defacing campaign posters and inciting violence through utterances and deeds.

” In furtherance of the above, Parents and guardians are advised to prevail on their children and wards to avoid being used as instruments of anarchy as adequate sanctions would be meted out on whosoever endeavors to threaten the relative tranquility enjoyed in the State.”

The police spokesman added that the suspects would soon be charged to court after proper investigations.

Exhibits found with the suspects included 7 Locally-Made Guns, one kitchen knife, four live cartridges, 4 Bajaj Motorcycles, 2 Mazda Buses, one mobile phone, 1 Toyota  car and some Criminal Charms.
