Oyetola Inaugurates Tinubu/Shettima South – West APC Grassroots Mobilisation Directorate; Unveils Wale Ohu As Oyo State Coordinator
Oshogbo, capital of the State of Osun went agog Saturday, Nov.19, 2022 afternoon when thousands of APC grassroots mobilizers and canvassers from all the six South West States of Nigeria gathered in the ancient city.
The party faithful gathered to witness the inauguration of the South – West Grassroots Engagement, Mobilisation and Orientation Directorate of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) by the Governor of the State of Osun, His Excellency Gboyega Oyetola.
Governor Oyetola enjoined members of the newly inaugurated PCC Directorate to justify their appointments by ensuring effective grassroots mobilization, orientation and support for APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Shortly after making his speech, the governor official inaugurated the grassroots directorate which saw the Unveiling of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC in Oyo state, Chief Wale Ohu as the Oyo state coordinator.
Chief Ohu, a foremost politician and a strong APC leader in the Oyo state has held different positions within the party with many successes recorded.
While speaking with newsmen in Osogbo, Chief Ohu who described Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as a patriot and the best candidate for the job, restated Oyo state’s commitment to deliver the state for Tinubu Shettima in next year’s presidential election.
Earlier in her welcome remarks, the Director of the SW Zone of the Grassroots Engagement & Orientation, a former deputy governor of the state of Osun, Otunba Titilayo Tomori-Ponnle assured the Governor and the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) that the Directorate will work tenaciously at the grassroots level to ensure that the APC delivers more than eighty-five percent of the Southwest votes for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
She also thanked the Governor for donating the magnificent office building to be used as the Southwest Secretariat of the Grassroots Engagement and Orientation Directorate.
Other dignitaries that spoke at the epoch making event included the guest speaker, Hon. Tunji Ojo, who is a member of the House of Representatives from Ekiti State, Osun State APC chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodu, Secretary of the Directorate, Hon. Kayode Oladele from Ogun State, Oyo State Coordinator, Chief Wale Ohu, Lagos State Deputy Coordinator, Akeem Apatira, Ondo State Coordinator, Pastor Bakare and other stakeholders from the six southwest States. After the inauguration, members went into technical session.
The Directorate will have a full structure put in place in each of the six States of the South- West to be headed by a State Coordinator Chief Wale Ohu.
Members of the Directorate were later hosted to a dinner by the Director at her residence in GRA, Osogbo.
