Three persons were said to have feared dead on Wednesday in Ikere Ekiti and five others sustained injuries when suspected armed robbers attacked two commercial Banks, Access and Wema in the town.
The men of the underworld allegedly carried out the attack in the peak hour of the day when business activities were ongoing which caught the residents unaware.
Some of the residents who spoke to Newsmen under the condition of anonimity, claimed that the suspected armed robbers stormed the town with two cars.
According to the residents, the suspected robbbers who were heavily armed shot sporadically to scare away people before heading to the two banks.
One of the security personnel securing Access Bank was said to have shot in the leg.
The three persons who died were said to have hit by stray bullets.
Undisclosed amount of money was said to have called carted away by the dare devil armed robbers.
As at the time of this report, there was no official statement from the security agents, particularly the spokesperson for Ekiti State Police command, Mr Sunday Abutu whose number was not reachable.
