Teaching Hospital Raises Concern Over Congested Mortuary • Gives Relatives Ultimatum

The Management of Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Osun State, has cried out over the congestion of the hospital’s mortuary due to unclaimed dead bodies.

This is contained in a statement by the Management of the Teaching Hospital issued on Saturday.

According to the statement, the hospital has given 14 days ultimatum for relatives who have corpses in the mortuary unit between January 2019 and June 2023 to come and retrieve them.

The statement indicates that the hospital’s mortuary is presently congested and crowded with unclaimed bodies.

  1. The Management warned that it would resort to mass burial if, after 14 days of the announcement, the families of the unclaimed bodies failed to show up.
