The management of Sunshine Queens football club of Akure has announced that head coach, Kayode Olujohungbe, has been relieved of his duties following a series of unsatisfactory results in the ongoing Nigeria women football league NWFL 2025/26 season.
In the interim, Coach Tayo Onilude has been appointed to take charge of the team and will lead the side for the remaining five matches of the season.
According to the club, the decision was reached after a thorough assessment of the team’s recent performances, with management believing a change in leadership is necessary to improve results.
Sunshine Queens FC also expressed appreciation to Olujohungbe for his dedication and contributions to the club, wishing him success in his future endeavours.
