SUNDAY NUGGETS: 2024 – Repositioning For Great Help || Mosope Kehinde

There is no doubt in saying the fact that, the best way to appreciate what the word help or helper means is when you find yourself in a very tight corner and God showed up for you. At that point when you think it is finished, and the next thing you’re expecting is shame, but then, suddenly help showed up. That is when you’ll appreciate the importance of help.

If nobody really understands the magnitude and potency of the act “help”, I’m sure the man at the pool of Bethesda will understand the power of help better. John 5:7 …“Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me. (Read John 5:1-8)

Brethren, It is difficult for anyone to rise in life without helper….. It is difficult to succeed when one lacks one form of helper or the other.

At a point in the life of Moses, when the enemy arose again Israel, in Ex 17:12-13, Moses needed an assistance. V12 But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

It was the support of Aaron and Hur who lifted the hands of Moses

An adage says, show me your friends, I’ll tell you who you are.

That is why, In the new year, one needs to reposition himself/herself for great help. One of the best ways to reposition for great help is to surround yourself with good people. POSITION OR REPOSITION YOUR ASSOCIATION

We cannot be doing the same thing and expect different results…. This year, be strategic, don’t just live your life as if you’re in a wander land, wandering about. Position yourself among quality people.

Where do you visit,
Who are your friends
What can you offer, what can you bring to the table

You cannot be praying and expecting great help without planning and positioning yourself before the help comes, so that your helpers will not get disappointed in you at the end of the day..

REPOSITION YOUR ASSOCIATION (Read 1 Corinthians 15:33) (birds of the same feathers flock together.)

33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.
(2 Corinthians 6:14) ESV Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness

In Mark 2:1-5,11

“And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.

“And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.

“And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

“And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

“When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

The above story explained the quality of people around the sick man. They went extra miles, exhibited uncommon faith and became determined just to render help and ensure the man get healed.

Hang around people who are action oriented, who believe in achievements. People of faith, not people that will discouraged you.

Carefully SELECT people you move with, people that can assist, correct or tell the truth to your face irrespective of your status, no sacrophants.

A Story of a Blind Beggar in the scripture explains how people around you could discourage you with their actions or inactions

(Read Luke 18:35-40): 35 As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.

36 When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. 37 They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.”

38 He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

39 Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
