Shina Peller Rallies Oyo North APM Candidates, Top Brass in High-Stakes Strategic Convergence

In a bold statement of intent ahead of the 2027 general elections, former federal lawmaker and Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) senatorial flagbearer, Hon. Shina Peller, hosted a high-level strategic retreat with all APM candidates and party executives across the Oyo North Senatorial District.

The convergence, which brought together House of Representatives candidates, State Assembly contenders, local government party chairmen, youth and women leaders as well as key strategists from across the 13 local government areas of the Oke-Ogun and Ogbomoso zones, marked a decisive phase in the party’s campaign architecture.

The meeting was convened to align party machinery, synchronize campaign strategies and build a unified front ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.

Addressing the delegates in Iseyin, Peller, who holds the traditional title of Ayedero of Yorubaland, emphasized that the 2027 election presents a historic opportunity for Oyo North to secure vibrant, accountable and result-driven representation in the National Assembly.

He urged party executives and flagbearers to transcend traditional campaign methods in favour of a deeply rooted, voter-centric approach that directly reflects the aspirations of the local populace.

He continued, “To deliver real progress for our people, every candidate, from the State House of Assembly to the Senate, must operate in complete harmony. Our strength lies in our collective structure, our shared vision and our unwavering commitment to the grassroots.”

A major focus of the strategic session was the establishment of a synchronized operational framework linking candidate efforts at all levels with the broader platform of the APM.

Peller highlighted the need for seamless coordination between the senatorial campaign and candidates across federal and state constituencies, ensuring that grassroots mobilization efforts remain unified and mutually reinforcing.

The former lawmaker, who represented the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency between 2019 and 2023, reiterated his commitment to leveraging his legislative experience and national network to champion agricultural modernization, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development across Oke-Ogun and Ogbomoso.

Furthermore, he observed that despite the district’s strategic importance as the agricultural heartland of Oyo State, it requires stronger, proactive legislative advocacy at the federal level.

Party executives present praised Peller’s leadership and organizational vision, characterizing the gathering as a vital turning point for political alignment in the region.

Local party chairmen reaffirmed their commitment to taking the APM message to every ward, village and polling unit, citing growing public enthusiasm for the party’s platform as a viable alternative to the political status quo.

Political analysts view the meeting as a significant strategic maneuver in Oyo North. With incumbent Senator Abdulfatai Buhari stepping aside from the senatorial race to pursue executive ambitions, the district’s legislative seat has drawn heightened political interest.
