Save People From Dying Of Hunger – Protesters Tell FG

Protesters in Ibadan, Oyo state capital have lamented the present economy hardship and insecurity in Nigeria

One of the Organizers of the protest who is also a Social Advocate, Mr Solomon Emiola said the protest was a collective efforts of aggrieved Nigerians on the need for the government to cushion the unbearable hardship being faced by the Masses.

Mr Emiola maintained that, Nigerians were not benefiting optimally from basic amenities which are the primary responsibilities of any government to its citizens.

He said the peaceful protest was to hold government accountable especially over the hike in prices of foodstuffs and other services .

Another protester, Miss Queen Mobolaji said the peaceful protest was to press home their demands for government to address the issues of insecurity and Corruption that are bedeviling country thereby causing poverty and hunger.

He appealed to government to ameliorate the suffering of the people.

Speaking, a Cleric who joined the protest, Pastor Paul Steve advised the government to encourage food importation into the country if that would be the solution to addressing the persistence food hunger among the majority of Nigerians.

Pastor Paul noted that the number of Farmers in the country could no longer feed a population of over 200 hundred millions due to insecurity and inaccessibility to their farmlands.

Two of the protesters, Mr Folorunsho Abolade and Mr IbukunOluwa Ilesanmi lamented that, they decided to voice out to let government know what they faced as the heads of their families who could not provide meals for their immediate family as prices of food items and other goods kept increasing incessantly.

They however appealed to government to quickly address their demands to save people from dying of hunger.

    You people should save yourselves and look for immediate solutions around you. The administrators are in the office But you people are on the streets
