On Saturday, protesters blocked some of the main routes in Osogbo and Ilesa. They were reportedly angry about the Election Petition Tribunal’s decision to remove Senator Ademola Adeleke as governor.
According to report, aside from the obstruction of traffic on the Osogbo/Ikirun route, the demonstrators also obstructed traffic on Gbongan/Osogbo road and disturb numerous commercial motorcycle drivers who were working in the area.
It was also gathered that Many businesses did not open to customers out of fear of being attacked by hoodlums, causing many commuters to become stranded and walk lengthy distances to their destinations.
At Igbona Area, the convoy of the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Kehinde Longe, was stopped by some people believed to be members of the transport management committee.

An eyewitness, who witnessed the incident said operatives that were in the convoy of the CP later cleared the barricade and moved on.
At Ilesa, the popular Roundabout was blocked to traffic, forcing commuters to take alternative routes to their various destinations.
When contacted for a reaction, Osun Police Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, said, “more men have been deployed to the identified spots where roads were blocked to traffic. The situation is under control.”
