The Chairman and CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, has announced that the return journey for Nigerian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia will commence on Monday 9th June, 2024, marking the final phase of the 2025 Hajj operations.
According to him, the initial flights will transport pilgrims from Imo State via Air Peace, Bauchi State via Max Air, and Kebbi and Sokoto States via Flynas.

Delivering his Eid al-Adha message, Professor Usman congratulated all Muslim faithful, particularly those who successfully observed the sacred rites of Arafat and the Hajj pilgrimage.

He prayed that Allah accepts the sacrifices and prayers of all pilgrims and Muslims around the world during this spiritually significant period.
Highlighting the deeper meaning of Hajj, the NAHCON Chairman urged Muslims to reflect on the values of trust, sacrifice, and obedience to Allah, citing the examples of Sayyidah Hajara and Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
He emphasized that these timeless lessons offer a roadmap to building peaceful and prosperous communities rooted in faith and discipline.
Professor Usman commended Nigerian pilgrims for their patience, discipline, and orderly conduct throughout the pilgrimage, noting that their cooperation greatly contributed to the success of NAHCON’s operations.
He also lauded the role of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, whose planning and coordination were instrumental in managing the large contingent of Nigerian pilgrims.
He further appreciated the commitment of NAHCON staff, board members, and ad-hoc officials, many of whom rendered selfless service in the holy land, even while in the sacred state of ihram.
The Chairman also acknowledged the unwavering support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, describing their backing as a key pillar behind the smooth execution of this year’s pilgrimage.
Concluding his message, Professor Usman expressed satisfaction with the services provided across the Mashair — Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah and reaffirmed NAHCON’s commitment to improving future Hajj operations through collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
He wished Muslims a peaceful Eid celebration, calling for renewed dedication to national unity and spiritual growth.
