Relief As Reps’ Member, Folajimi ‘DoN’ Flags Off Reconstruction of Oni Lane Rd In Ibadan North

The federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DON, has flagged off the reconstruction of the long-dilapidated Oni lane Road in Ward 3, marking the second road project being undertaken in his constituency in less than eight months in office.

The Oni lane Road, which has remained in a deplorable condition for many years, is expected to ease the movement of motorists and residents while improving accessibility and economic activities within the community upon completion.

Speaking with journalists during the flag-off ceremony, Hon. Oyekunle reaffirmed his commitment to delivering tangible dividends of democracy to the people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

The lawmaker said he was elected to represent the people and would continue to ensure that their needs and demands receive the necessary attention through effective representation and developmental projects.

“I was sent to represent the people, and my primary responsibility is to ensure that dividends of democracy are brought back to the constituency. I will not stop bringing development to our people,” he said.

Hon. Oyekunle recalled that during his campaign and engagement with residents of Ward 3, the deplorable condition of the Onilane Road was one of the major concerns raised by the people.

According to him, he assured the residents at the time that their concerns would receive a prompt response, expressing gratitude to God that the promise has now become a reality.

He said the flag-off of the Onilane Road reconstruction further demonstrates his administration’s commitment to responding to the genuine needs of constituents rather than merely making promises.

“This is one of the issues the people raised during my campaign in Ward 3. I promised them that I would respond, and today, to the glory of God, we are here to make that promise visible,” he said.

The federal lawmaker stressed that the Onilane Road project was only the beginning, revealing that more road reconstruction projects and other interventions would be coming to different parts of Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

“This is just a tip of the many road reconstruction projects that will be done. We are not stopping here. There are still many areas where our people need government intervention, and we will continue to do our best to bring development to them,” Oyekunle added.

The reconstruction of the 1.17-kilometre road is expected to provide relief to residents and motorists who have endured years of poor road conditions, while also opening up the area for improved commercial and social activities.

He also appealed to constituents to continue to support the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) at the forthcoming general election, urging them to vote for the party to ensure the continuity and consolidation of ongoing developmental projects and programmes across Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
