Professor of Dramatic Literature, Jide Ajidahun Unveils New Play, ‘Strange Bread’

Professor Jide Ajidahun of the Department of English Studies, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), has unveiled his latest play, titled Strange Bread.

The play, described as a thought-provoking drama, explores the tension between faith, tradition, fear and personal conviction.

Strange Bread follows Aderopo, who is confronted in the stillness of the night with a ritual offering he once accepted without question.

This time, he refuses, a decision that triggers a gripping confrontation between fear and faith, appetite and conviction.

Rooted in Yoruba cosmology, African spirituality and contemporary religious realities, the play examines the unseen forces surrounding sickness, power, faith and survival.
