Prison Fellowship of Nigeria Empowers Inmate’s Children In Ongoing Holiday Camping

The Prison Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Oyo state chapter has again organized a holiday camp for children of inmates whose parents are serving jail terms in correctional facilities within the state

The programme under the Promise Path Initiative of the PFN was an annual event organized for the children with a view to shaping, moulding, inspiring and impacting on beneficiaries who were drawn from different parts of the state.

Newsarena.ng reports that the programme tagged Promise Path Holiday Camp with the theme “Discovering Me” featured games, film show, quiz, mentorship, life coaching and spiritual guide

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the three-day programme which commenced on 22nd August, 2024 and still ongoing at St Peter Catholic College, Apata, Ibadan, the state chairman, Prison Fellowship of Nigeria, Prophet Boyede Sule said the children were at the camp for a life changing encounter, to make them become better citizens and be useful to themselves and the society at large.

Represented by Pastor Daniel Farinde, Prophet Sule challenged the children to be obedient, be of good behavior and make the best out of life for themselves.

Also speaking, the national coordinator, Promise Path project of the Prison Fellowship of Nigeria, Mrs Tosin Olugbade said the project was to train children whose parents are incaserated in Prison facilities, giving them hope of becoming great in life despite their experiences.

Mrs Olugbade also hinted that the fellowship hope to address growing insecurity in the country with the programme, expressing the need for the society to constructively engage such children for them not to be criminally minded.

The holiday camping, majorly funded by volunteer donations and supports from spirited individuals ends on Saturday 24th August, 2024 as departure for the children.
