Police React To Alleged Fresh Eviction Ultimatum To Herders By Sunday Igboho
The Oyo State Police Command has dispelled and described as unfounded speculations making the rounds on the social media, over the purported eviction ultimatum of Herders at Igboho, Oorelope Local Government Area by suspected separatist group members as misleading and complete falsehood.
This was contained in a statement issued by the police public relations officer, Adewale Osifeso in Ibadan.
Osifeso said the viral video which surfaced during the early hours of Tuesday, 16/07/2024 was specifically designed by agents of mischief to disrupt the relative peaceful ambience enjoyed in the State by inciting violence and civil-disturbances.
He explained that no notice of eviction was pronounced by any individual or group on anyone at any period in time.
“Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police has tasked the supervising Area Commander in charge to personally lead confidence building patrols and as well increase the visibility of personnel around the jurisdiction, while more Command’s operational, intelligence and tactical assets have since been deployed to prevent any untoward occurrence.
