PHOTOS: Gov. Makinde Hands Over 74 Operational Vehicles, Reconstructed Ojoo Station To Oyo Police Command
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has donated 74 operational vehicles to Nigeria police,the state command for effective policing in order to make state safer for all.
The governor has equally commissioned the re-constructed Oojo police station,Ibadan, destroyed during the ENDSARS protests in 2020.
At the twin event in Ibadan,Governor Makinde said the gesture was geared towards restoring the facilities and build relationship between the police and the people.
While appreciating the police and other sister agencies for securing the state,the governor noted the 74 patrol vehicles would be evenly distributed across the police divisional headquarters in Oyo state.
Governor Makinde therefore appealed to the people to guard the facilities judiciously to prevent vandalism.
Governor Makinde however pledged that the victims of End SARS protest would be duly compeciated in accordance with the recommendation of the End SARS Judicial Panel of enquiry.
Also,the state Commissioner of Police Oyo Police Command, Adebowale Williams appreciated the governor for the reconstruction of the burnt police station during ENDSARs protests.
He said the gesture and many others which the government has done would enhance and motivate the personnel in their day to day activities.
The CP Adebowale implored residents of the benefiting community, especially youths to see the newly reconstructed police structure as their own.
In a remark, the Special Adviser to the Governor on security,Fatai Owoseni highlighted various achievements of the present administration in the area of security pointing out that Governor Makinde led government had donated over 500 vehicles to security agencies in the state so as to boost security.
Earlier,the chairman of Akinyele local government,Taoheed Adedigba said the project demonstrated Governor Makinde’s Zero tolerance to insecurity in Oyo state.
