PDP Pays Condolence Visit To Oyo Assembly Speaker, Urges Family Members To Sustain Mother’s Legacies

The Oyo state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) executives under the leadership of its chairman, Honourable Dayo Ogungbenro, yesterday paid an official condolence visit to the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adebo Ogundoyin and his family over the death of his mother, Yeye Justina Iyabo Ogundoyin.

The delegation of the party leadership in the state which was led by the state secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke also had the Publicity Secretary, Akeem Olatunji, Financial Secretary; Dayo Opatokun, party’s Legal Adviser; Bar Gbadegesin, Auditor; Hon Adelabu and the Assistant Organizing Secretary, Pastor Biodun Popoola in the entourage.

The PDP state excos while at the Speaker’s family residence in Iyaganku GRA, Ibadan, urged the lawmaker and members of his family to ensure they make it an obligation to preserve and maintain legacies of their late parents in all their endeavors.

Alhaji Adeleke who spoke on behalf of the party described the late mother of the Speaker as a strong, virtuous, and industrious woman of great substance, who worked tirelessly to preserve the legacies of her late husband and gave her children her very best.

Also describing the deceased as a business woman of repute, a community leader, and a cheerful giver who cares for the needy and less privileged in the society, the PDP secretary noted that her demise has left a vacuum in the Ogundoyin family that can never be filled by anyone else.

He advised children of the late Yeye Justina not to depart from the way of the Lord as they were trained to by their late mother while alive which he said is already evident in the conduct and loyalty displayed by the Rt Hon. Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly which has continued to give stability to Governor Seyi Makinde led PDP administration.

“We are here to officially commiserate with you as the ruling party to which you are not just a member but one of the leaders particularly in Ibarapa zone and we want to assure you that we’re with you and we deeply empathize with you and your family over the departure of your beloved mother from this sinful world.

“It is indeed true that the quality of the life we live is not measured by how much of material wealth we amassed but the number of lives we impacted for the memories we leave with them form part of our legacies that will linger for many generations to come even after we are long from this sinful world.

“You’ve no doubt been a great beneficiary of your parents legacies because they lived accomplished lives while alive, and by that I mean they impacted so many lives who are still living testimonies to their benevolence and kindness.

“Your late parents have played their parts and gave you and your siblings the best life they could give you, it is now entirely up to you and your family to carry on from where they stopped to ensure that the legacies they left behind are not only preserved but sustained and handed down to your own children.

“We have no doubt in your capacity and loyalty to the party, the state, and governor Seyi Makinde who is the overall leader and father of PDP in Oyo state and the entire south west Nigeria because you have continued to display the needed courage and faith required of young leaders in positions of authority and we can only assure you that we are with you and will continue to stand by you, more especially, during this trying time of bereavement.” The ruling party stated.

Special prayers were offered for the deceased and all members of the family she left behind.
