The Governing Council for Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora has felicitated the newly appointed Rector, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi and three other Principal Officers of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.
Speaking on behalf of Governing Council Members, the Council Chairman, Prof. Lateef Sanni commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State for approving the appointment of Principal Officers for the Institution.
Prof Sanni lauded Engr. Seyi Makinde on the successes recorded by the Oyo State Contingent at the National Sports Festival and for the beautiful performance of the Shooting Stars Football Club.
Prof. Sanni described the appointment of Principal Officers for OYSCATECH as a monumental achievement for the Governor.
While presenting the letters to the new Principal Officers during the Governing Council Meeting held at OYSCATECH Liaison Office, Public Corporations Building, Secretariat, Ibadan, Prof. Sanni charged the new appointees to start on a clean note in order to move the institution to enviable heights.
According to him, “do not give room to rumour peddlers but you must work in unity of purpose.
“Oyo State College of Agriculture is a potential University; therefore, all stakeholders must work together for the advancement of the institution,” he said.
Prof. Sanni charged staff of the institution not to renege on personal development in order to remain relevant in the future.
The Council at its meeting considered possible ways of improving the institution’s internally generated revenue and thus set up different committees that would review the various proposals.
Similarly, the Council also considered reports on the newly installed 90 solar street lights by the Tertiary Education Trust fund (TETFund) for the institution, as well as reports on eight academic programmes that will be presented for accreditation by next year.
Prof Sanni thanked all the Governing Council Members for their cooperation and for the successful completion of the appointment process which had started since 2019.
He wished the appointees a successful stay in office.
