During a routine monitoring exercise, the enforcement team of the Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority, OYRLEA, encountered cattle grazing openly around Old Ife Road, Alakia, and Elebu Idi Ahun areas in Ido Local Government Area, Oyo State.

The act contravenes the State’s regulations on open grazing and livestock control. Consequently, the enforcement team impounded five (5) cows found within the affected areas.

In a related operation the same day, the team responded to a report of cattle grazing along the Mokola highway, Ibadan. On arrival, three (3) cows were found on the highway, posing risks to motorists and residents. One (1) cow was immediately impounded while the others fled.

The Mokola operation forms part of OYRLEA’s sustained enforcement of livestock management regulations and its drive to curb open grazing practices that endanger public safety and disrupt community peace.
The Authority reiterates its commitment to maintaining environmental order, protecting residents, and ensuring full compliance with the laws of Oyo State.
