Oyo: Youths Benefit From LP Reps Candidate, Sunday Oni’s Empowerment Programme

The Chief Executive Officer of Broadnet, Mr Sunday Oni yesterday took youth empowerment program to another level in Oyo state at the grand finale of NPC Expo 2023 where young graduates and youths drawn from different parts of the state underwent special entrepreneurial training.

The House of Representatives candidate in the recently concluded 2023 general elections under the platform of Labour Party disclosed to newsmen, his passion for creating different platforms for youths development upon which young, ambitious, and entrepreneurial Nigerians could become financially self independent.

While speaking with journalists at Jogor Centre in Ibadan, venue of the grand finale of the 2 day event, on Wednesday, April 26, Oni stated that the two days intense training aimed at providing participants requisite skills in Videography, Cinematography, Photography, and tourism.

The young Broadnet Concept boss also disclosed to journalists that he has been in the cinematography and photography industry for over 19 years with track record of success stressing that the economic prospect has continued to expand with large potentials to generate more employment opportunities for youths while also serving as a source of internally generated revenue to state government through tax.

According to Oni, participants on Day 1 held a photo-cinema walk around some selected tourist sites in Ibadan including Eleyele Dam, Oke-‘badan Bower’s Tower among others in order to properly tell the photo-story of the ancient city and its tourist attractions after which participants were engaged in intense training in Photo/Cinema Exposition (NPC Expo) while day 2 showcased the best of Photography and Cinematography in Nigeria at a session tagged ‘Canon Masterclass’.

“It was a two days seminar, that gives room for the young minded ones with burning passion for entrepreneur and to unlearn and learn on how to handle camera for the purpose of photography and videography.

“I have not missed this for the past 17 years, the photo work we did yesterday was to showcase Ibadan tourism centers to the world, we visited Eleyele River, this really showed the beauty of Ibadan, we have different photoshoots and videos from that locations, the government need to do something there to revamp the river, and make it more lively for tourists.

“This will not only generate revenue for the state but also create job opportunities for our youths. Government will make more money, we also went to the old railway station at Dugbe, we also have some fantastic photoshoots there as well, these are the areas that government can invest in, and turn it to tourist sites and at the end of the day it will be a plus for the state.

“We also want to go to Oke-‘badan, the Bowers Tower but that is another project entirely, Ibadan is blessed with series of tourist sites and if they’re properly managed they can become major sector that will bring in money for state government, all government needs is just to invest and also provide enabling environment for the investors, this is what we are actually doing with this EXPO project.

“We are showcasing Ibadan to the world, we need to empower our youths, they need to be well connected, with this event, one of the things we normally do is networking, we always ensure that our participants are well networked, we always ask them to collect contacts of facilitators so they can gain a lot from them after the event.

“They need mentorship after the event, this is something people pay huge money for but here we do it for them free of charge. They are always ready to give them advance training in Lagos, and Abuja, all they need to do is pay for the logistics to the venue of the training and that’s all.” Oni said.

Some of the participants who spoke with journalists expressed gratitude to Broadnet Concept for bringing such opportunity that would have cost them fortunes elsewhere down to their doorstep in Ibadan while expressing their eagerness to begin professional careers in the industry.

One of the participants who is also a host at the epoch event, Adeola Akinola told journalists that Broadnet Concept has become a platform upon which young, ambitious and creative Nigerians who are willing to take up professional career in cinematography and photography as full time job, earn a successful career.
