Adebo Ogundoyin, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, has urged Nigerians to pray sincerely for a peaceful and orderly transition of power in 2023.
Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin urged Nigerians to raise their voices in prayer to God for a peaceful and prosperous new year in his new year’s message.
He pointed out that the nation will be greatly impacted by the events in 2023, particularly the general elections, thus more earnest prayers are required.
” Happy and prosperous New Year to everyone of us. May the Lord bless us in the new year, 2023 and grant all our prayer requests for ourselves and our dear nation. The general election coming up this year is another test for our democracy. The peaceful and successful conduct of the election determines the sustainability of the nation’s democracy and the future of our country. So, we all must play our parts in ensuring that the country is not thrown into post election crisis or avoidable political upheaval which may spell doom for the nation. ”
The Speaker wished the people of Oyo State a happy new year and urged them to show their appreciation for Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts by supporting all of the PDP candidates in the next election.
Ibarapa East State Constituency residents in particular were wished a happy and prosperous new year in 2023, and Hon Ogundoyin asked them to turn out enmasse to fulfill their civic duty during the election.
