Oyo Reps’, Olajide ‘Odidiomo’ Expresses Concern Over Rising Inflation
Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, representing Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency in the House of Representatives has expressed deep concern over the state of the economy, citing rising inflation, unemployment, and poverty rates as the bane of the nation’s current economic crisis.
Hon. Olajide, while speaking on the state of the nation through his Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, emphasized the need for a national dialogue to address these pressing issues and find sustainable solutions.
According to him, “We cannot continue to ignore the cries of our citizens, who are struggling to make ends meet.
It is our responsibility as leaders to come together and find a way forward,” Olajide said.
Proposing a way out of the present dark situation, the PDP lawmaker proposed a national dialogue that would bring together stakeholders from various sectors, including government, private sector, civil society, and labor unions.
The dialogue he said would aim to identify the root causes of the economic crisis and develop a comprehensive plan to address them.
Olajide also highlighted the need for transparency and accountability in governance, as well as the importance of investing in education, healthcare, and infrastructure to drive economic growth.
The lawmaker while calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to convene the national dialogue without further delay, emphasized that time is of the essence.
“We cannot afford to delay.”
“The fate of our nation and the well-being of our citizens depend on our ability to act decisively and collectively,” Olajide concluded.
