2027: Oyo PDP Governorship Aspirant Resigns From Party

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, has resigned his membership of the party, citing the lingering internal crisis affecting the political platform.

Adegoke, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), announced his resignation in a letter dated March 2, 2026, and addressed to the Ward 10 Chairman of the party in Ibadan South West Local Government Area.

In the letter, he explained that his decision was informed by what he described as the “intractable political crisis and problems” currently bedevilling the party, which he noted could undermine the political ambitions of members.

According to him, the situation within the party has become increasingly challenging and may hinder members from effectively pursuing their political aspirations.

“I hereby resign my membership of the party with immediate effect,” Adegoke stated in the letter.
