Oyo NULGE President, Adeogun Hails Makinde For Approving Conversion Of LG Ad-hoc Workers
Oyo State President, Nigeria Union Of Local Government Employee, NULGE, Comrade Ayobami Adeogun has appreciated Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for graciously approving the conversion of Ad-hoc workers in all council areas to permanent staff status.
Comrade Adeogun made the commendation on Wednesday while speaking at the commissioning of the Local Government House and Local Government Staff Training School, government secretariat, Agodi Ibadan.
Comrade Adeogun had highlighted the alarming reduction in the Local Government workforce, stating that Since 2019, over 2,000 workers have retired from the Local Government Service, leaving the system with less than 8,000 workers across the 33 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas in Oyo State.
During his speech, the Oyo state NULGE president explained that the shortage of manpower is beginning to impact the efficiency of our daily operations.
But in response to the appeal, Governor Seyi Makinde graciously approved that the conversion process for the adhoc staff should begin immediately and be completed within four weeks.
Comrade Adeogun however expressed deep gratitude to His Excellency for his prompt and magnanimous consideration of their appeal.
