Oyo Guber Aspirant, ‘Odidiomo’ Facilitates Comprehensive Digital Training For Unemployed Youths

In continuation of efforts aimed at tackling youth unemployment and promoting digital inclusion among youths in Oyo state, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South -west federal constituency of Oyo state in the house of representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, today facilitated a comprehensive digital literacy training and empowerment programme for unemployed youths across the state.


The initiative, organized in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency, (NITDA), is designed to equip participants with relevant digital competencies required to thrive in today’s technology driven economy.

A total of 210 beneficiaries drawn from across the state participated in the programme, structured in two phases, which began with an online training segment held from monday, April 13 to friday, April 17, 2026, followed by a physical, hands-on training scheduled for Monday, April 20 to Friday, April 24, 2026.

Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Olajide Odidiomo, represented by his senior legislative assistant, Hon. Kunle Folarin, pointed out the urgent need to bridge the existing digital divide and create sustainable opportunities for young people. He noted that the programme aligns with ongoing efforts to empower constituents with practical skills capable of enhancing employability and fostering entrepreneurship.

According to him, beyond theoretical knowledge, the training focuses on real time applications of digital tools, enabling participants to explore opportunities in areas such as remote work, digital marketing and technology driven enterprises.

The lawmaker stated further that, to ensure lasting impact, each participant will receive training materials, including laptops, alongside cash support to aid their transition into productive ventures upon completion of the programme.

Participants at the training lauded the initiative as timely and impactful, particularly in the face of rising unemployment among youths. They described the intervention as a model for sustainable empowerment, capable of transforming beneficiaries into self reliant contributors to the economy.
