Oyo Govt. Reacts to Resignations In Makinde’s Administration Says Political Developments ‘Come With the Times’
The Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, has reacted to the resignation of the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Barrister Ayobami Ojo, from Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, describing the development as one that “comes with the times.”
Oyelade, in a statement issued on Monday, November 2, 2026, said the latest resignation did not come as a surprise to Governor Makinde, who, according to him, has maintained his composure and conviction despite what he described as sustained political intimidation.

The Information Commissioner noted that while some supporters of the governor might feel betrayed by the recent developments, Makinde had a sense of déjà vu, having anticipated the unfolding political situation.

He described the governor as a leader who had remained steadfast in his convictions despite pressure, adding that his position contrasted with that of some political associates whom he alleged had capitulated against their personal convictions.
According to Oyelade, the governor’s message to the people centres on the importance of conscience, truth and courage in public service.
He quoted Makinde as emphasising that “conscience is an open wound and only truth can heal it.”
The commissioner further stated that Makinde was reassuring Nigerians, particularly residents of Oyo State, that courage and consistency remained necessary virtues at a time when, in his view, falsehood, empty promises, cajoling and deceit were gradually losing their influence in the political space.
Oyelade maintained that the governor remained committed to standing by his convictions, regardless of the political implications of recent developments within his administration.
The statement was signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade, Commissioner for Information, Oyo State, and dated November 2, 2026.
