Oyo Deputy Governor, Other Dignitaries To Attend First Coronation Anniversary Of Onigbeti of Igbeti, Oba Olalekan Abioye

The first anniversary of the ascension of Oba Olalekan Bashir Abioye as the Onigbeti of Igbeti will be marked on February 8, 2025, with an array of dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Bayo Lawal attending the celebrations.
The event, which will take place in the heart of Igbeti, at UMCA Ogunbode Grammar School, promises to be a grand occasion, bringing together traditional rulers, government officials, and other stakeholders from across the state and beyond.
As the community celebrates the milestone in the reign of Oba Olalekan Abioye, various cultural performances, traditional dances, and speeches are expected to highlight the rich heritage of Igbeti.
Oba Abioye, who was crowned as the Onigbeti on in 2024, has since made significant strides in the development of the town, fostering unity and advancing local welfare.
Speaking on the preparation of the epoc making event, executive chairman, Olorunsogo local government, Hon. Qozeem Olayanju said Oba Abioye’s leadership has been characterized by efforts aimed at preserving the traditions of the people of Igbeti while ensuring the progress of the community in various sectors, including education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
In his invitation to the public and distinguished guests, Oba Abioye expressed his gratitude for the support and love shown to him during his first year on the throne.
He also emphasized the importance of the anniversary in bringing the people of Igbeti together to celebrate their heritage and look forward to a prosperous future.
The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Bayo Lawal, along with other notable figures, is expected to attend the ceremony to commend the monarch’s contributions to the growth of the town and the well-being of its citizens.
