Oyo Court Remands Ten Robbery Suspects

Ten armed robbery suspects have appeared before a Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Oyo town, facing a twelve count charge of robbery while armed with guns and other dangerous weapons.

The accused persons and others now at large were said to have committed the crimes at various places such as Awe, Akinmoorin sometimes last year.

The suspects are Oluwakemi Lawal, Taiwo Muhammad, Aliu Rabiu, Akeem Olusina and Michael Adewale.

Others are Bello Teslim, Dada Razaq, Ismail Azeez, Ololade Olamide and Safad Muhammed.

According to the charges presented in court by Barrister Fola Osegbade, the suspects allegedly robbed their victims of various iPhones, laptops, wrist watches and gold worth millions of naira.

They were also accused of snatching a Lexus car valued at twelve million naira including Toyota sports car, apart from hacking bank accounts to draw huge sums of money.

The suspects’ victims present in court include Olaleye Olanipekun, Olayemi Olajumoke, Oyewale Ifayemi and a woman simply called Peace who all commended police efforts in bringing the suspects to face the law.

Chief Magistrate Giwa Babalola ordered all the ten accused persons to be remanded at Abolongo correctional center pending legal advice from Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP.
