Oyo 2023: Why No Party Can Win The Coming Election Without Alliance – LP • Collapses Structure For Another Candidate
The Oyo state Labour Party chairman, Atayese Sodiq has hinted that no political party and their governorship candidates could win the March 11 gubernatorial election in the state without alliance.
Atayese Sodiq stated this on Sunday while speaking with newsmen in Ibadan.
He said with the results of the last presidential election and the political realities of Oyo state, it was obvious that no party candidate can win the coming Guber election in Oyo state alone.
Sodiq said the right thing to do is for parties and their candidates to come together and forge alliance with party candidates of like ideologies
He, however noted that among all choices of candidates available in Oyo state and the concern of the citizens to elect a credible candidate who has character, competence, and capacity the Labour Party has decided to work harmoniously with Governor Seyi Makinde
He said Makinde is the candidate whose ideology tallies with labour party manifesto.
He said labour party is though aware of Makinde’s battle in his own party, People’s Democratic Party, PDP, thorough assessment of all governorship candidate in the state was done and that Labour Party Structure in the 33 LGs in Oyo state have been collapsed to support the reelection of incumbent governor.
