The Police at the Force headquarters on Tuesday disclosed that the news of the arrest of some perpetrators of Owo Attack by Amotekun got to the Police just like any other Nigerian.
It also explained that nobody was handed over to the Police.
Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi made the disclosure at a briefing in Abuja.
CSP Adejobi said to the best of the Force’s knowledge, no suspect or suspects have been arrested in connection with the gory and deadly attack at St. Francis Catholic Church that killed over 40 worshippers and injured many others.
He said the Special Squad dispatched to Owo to investigate the attack has not made any arrest other than the expended AK 47 pellets recoveries of unexploded IEDS.
“When the Nigerian Police Force arrest any suspect, we will let you (the public) know. For now we have not done anything like that (arrested anybody)”, he said.

Recall that the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed “Amotekun Corps” on 23rd June, 2022 confirmed the Arrest of some Perpetrators of Owo Catholic church Massacre, recovering some weapons and the vehicle used to escape from the scene.
The State Commander of Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye who did not give the specific number and other details of the arrested Owo church attackers, said the corps was still working with other sister security agencies to track others involved in the crime.
Adeleye also said the 71 suspects paraded in Akure would be charged to court for prosecution after the conclusion of investigations
