The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, says the party is ready to work with the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, to secure support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Senator Bashiru stated this while addressing newsmen during a courtesy visit to Governor Adeleke at the Government House in Osogbo.
While emphasizing that his visit was aimed at ensuring wider support for President Bola Tinubu across party lines, the APC stalwart explained that Governor Adeleke, who had earlier endorsed the President for a second term in office, had also promised to campaign for him.
Senator Bashiru, who said the APC performed credibly well, securing 46 per cent of the votes during the last governorship election, expressed confidence that Osun State would massively support President Bola Tinubu.
The APC National Secretary, who noted that the governorship election had been concluded, urged members of the party to close ranks and work together to ensure victory for President Bola Tinubu.
On the recent reports of a leadership crisis within the motor park system, Senator Bashiru urged the leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, to resolve its differences peacefully.
He also stressed the need for all stakeholders to collaborate towards sustaining peace and promoting the development of Osun State.
