Osun Guber Election: Ogundeji ‘Apata’ Rallies Support For APC, Visits Oyetola In Iragbiji

Renowned philanthropist and prominent political figure in Osun West Senatorial District, Chief (Dr.) Peter Ogundeji, popularly known as APATA, has paid a courtesy visit to the immediate past Governor of Osun State and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Chief Adegboyega Oyetola, at his country home in Iragbiji.

Chief Oyetola is presently in Osun State to observe the Christmas and New Year holidays in line with the public holidays declared by the Federal Government.

The visit, which observers described as warm and strategic, further underscored the growing efforts within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to strengthen internal cohesion ahead of the 2026 governorship election in the state.

Notably, the visit by the youthful Osun West 2027 Senatorial hopeful coincided with that of the APC’s 2026 governorship candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, who was also at the Iragbiji country home of the former governor. The convergence of key party stakeholders was seen by political watchers as a strong signal of unity, shared purpose and renewed momentum within the party.

Speaking through his Media Office after the visit, Chief Ogundeji said he was “enthusiastically received” by the former governor, whom he described as a seasoned statesman and bridge-builder within the APC.

“Chief Adegboyega Oyetola remains a fine politician, a dependable leader and a father figure whose political wisdom continues to guide the party,” APATA said. “With his full support and leadership, the APC stands tall and well-positioned to reclaim Osun State in the next governorship election.”

The philanthropist, who is also the Oluomo of Gbotaru in Ido-Osun, commended the reconciliation and fence-mending efforts initiated by party leaders following the last governorship primary election, which produced Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) as the APC’s flagbearer for the 2026 governorship race.

“As our elders say, when brothers fight, strangers reap the harvest. The APC has chosen the wiser path of unity, and that decision will translate into victory,” he noted.

Chief Ogundeji stressed that unity, love and hard work remain the critical ingredients for electoral success, adding that no political structure can thrive in an atmosphere of rancour and division.

Reaffirming his loyalty to the party, APATA pledged his unwavering commitment, alongside his teeming supporters, to mobilising massive grassroots support for the APC, particularly across the Osun West Senatorial District.

“We are ready to comb every nook and cranny of Osun West and Osun State in general. Victory is not wished for; it is worked for,” he declared. “Together, we shall deliver the APC and its governorship candidate at the polls.”
