Osun 2026: APC Youth Leader, Senatorial Aspirant Ogundeji ‘APATA’, Drive Massive Grassroots Sensitisation Across Osun West
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Wing in Osun West Senatorial District has intensified grassroots mobilisation ahead of the August 8, 2026, Osun State governorship election, as the party’s Senatorial Youth Leader, Hon. Imran Majeed Adekunle, led a wide-ranging sensitisation tour across local government areas in the district.
The district-wide engagement, which started on Tuesday, has so far covered Isokan, Irewole, Ejigbo, Egbedore, Ayedire and Olaoluwa Local Government Areas, drawing party leaders, youth stakeholders and supporters. Prominent on the entourage of the Youth Leader was a leading APC chieftain, philanthropist and 2027 Osun West senatorial aspirant, Chief (Dr) Peter Taiwo Ogundejii (APATA), whose political support group, APATA FOR AMBO, played an active role throughout the mobilisation exercise.

Isokan, Irewole Kick-Start Tour

The sensitisation drive commenced in Isokan Local Government Area, marking the official take-off of the Osun West APC Youth mobilisation campaign.
The delegation was received at the council secretariat in Apomu by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Goke Michael Odetunde, alongside the APC Local Government Chairman, Hon. Bashir Osunlakin, councillors and other party stakeholders.
Welcoming the team, Hon. Odetunde described the exercise as timely and strategic, assuring the party leadership of Isokan’s readiness to deliver massive support for the APC through unity and early grassroots mobilisation.
Addressing party members and youths, Hon. Imran Adekunle explained that Isokan was deliberately selected as the starting point of the tour because of its cohesion and strategic importance, stressing that party unity would remain non-negotiable as preparations intensify for the 2026 election.
In his remarks, Chief (Dr) Peter Ogundejii described the APC governorship candidate as credible and people-focused, urging party members to sustain grassroots engagement and ownership of the campaign. He commended the youth leadership for initiating what he described as a people-driven mobilisation.
The Isokan engagement also witnessed the defection of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord Party to the APC, citing renewed confidence in the party’s leadership and direction.
From Isokan, the team moved to Irewole Local Government Area, Ikire, where they were received at the APC Secretariat by the Irewole APC Youth Leader, Comrade Olubowale Olushola, alongside ward youth leaders and party faithful.
In his welcome address, Comrade Olubowale reaffirmed the readiness of Irewole youths to take ownership of the campaign, noting that the local government, as the home of the APC governorship candidate, bore a special responsibility to lead mobilisation efforts.
Speaking, Hon. Imran Adekunle congratulated party members on the successful APC governorship primary and urged sustained unity, discipline and commitment across all wards.
Chief Ogundejii, on his part, emphasised the decisive role of youths in elections and called for collective efforts to deliver overwhelming support for the APC as a mark of appreciation for the confidence reposed in Osun West Senatorial District.
Ejigbo, Egbedore Engagements
The sensitisation train later moved to Ejigbo, headquarters of Ejigbo Central Local Government and the home local government of Chief Ogundejii. The delegation was received at the council secretariat by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Gbolahan Ayegbayo, alongside the Chairmen of Ejigbo West and Ejigbo South Local Council Development Areas, Hon. Bashir Tegbe and Hon. Kolapo Olayanju, as well as party leaders and stakeholders.
A large turnout of youths and party faithful at the main meeting venue underscored growing grassroots enthusiasm. Addressing the gathering, Hon. Imran Adekunle charged party youths to remain united and committed to aggressive grassroots mobilisation, describing youth participation as the backbone of electoral success.
Also speaking, Chief (Dr) Ogundejii urged party members to deepen grassroots engagement and actively participate in the party’s membership e-registration and voter registration exercises, stressing that sustained, youth-driven mobilisation would be central to the APC’s success in 2026.
The tour proceeded to Awo, headquarters of Egbedore Local Government Area, where the delegation was received by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Issa Akinwale; the Executive Vice Chairman, Hon. Mrs Adeniyi Nurat Omolara; the Leader of the House, Hon. Sulaiman Tokunbo; and the APC leader in the local government, Hon. Abiodun Awolola, alongside other officials.
Welcoming the team were the Egbedore Local Government Youth Leader, Comrade Oyebamiji Abiodun; the Egbedore LCDA Youth Leader, Comrade Abidoye Adeshina; ward youth leaders and a large gathering of party youths.
Addressing supporters, Hon. Imran Adekunle commended the enthusiasm of Egbedore youths and emphasised the decisive role of grassroots mobilisation in reclaiming Osun State for the APC.
The engagements, which also took the entourage to Olaoluwa and Ayedire Local Government Areas, ended with renewed commitment, strengthened grassroots coordination and a collective resolve by party youths and stakeholders to work towards the APC’s victory in the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The sensitisation exercise will be concluded next week with visits to the remaining four local governments in Osun West Senatorial District.
Highpoints of the tour included the inauguration of Door-to-Door Campaign Committees across visited local governments and prayers for the success of the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).
