Olubadan Confers Prestigious Chieftaincy Titles On “OdidiOmo”, Wife July 11

All roads lead to the Oke Are, Ibadan palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akinloye Olalere Owolabi Olakulehin, the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, on Friday, 11th July, 2025, as the federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency of Oyo state, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide and his wife, Alhaja Adenike Shakirat Olajide will be honoured with prestigious chieftaincy titles Odidiomo and Yeye Odidiomo of IBADANLAND by the Ibadan traditional council.

According to an official statement made available to Journalists by the Special Adviser Media and Public Affairs to the the lawmaker, Tolu Mustapha, the event is scheduled to commence at 11:00 a.m. at the Olubadan’s Palace, where Hon. Olajide and his amiable wife will be formally installed as Odidiomo of Ibadanland and Yeye Odidiomo of Ibadanland, respectively.

The chieftaincy conferment bestowed on Rt. Hon. Olajide, a two term P.D.P lawmaker and his wife, according to Tolu Mustapha, is in recognition of his unwavering service to the people of Ibadan and beyond, with his exemplary contributions to the cultural and political heritage of Yorubaland.

The statement further described the chieftaincy recognition as a “significant milestone” in his public and private journey, expressing profound appreciation to the Olubadan-in-Council and the people of Ibadanland for the honour.

“With gratitude to the Almighty, I humbly request the pleasure of your esteemed presence at the conferment ceremony. Your presence will be a great honour and deeply appreciated as we celebrate this moment with our family, friends and well wishers,” the statement read.

The event is expected to draw dignitaries from across political, traditional and religious spheres, as well as indigenes and residents of Ibadan who continue to hold the Olubadan institution in the highest esteem.

Hon. Olajide, a serving Member of the House of Representatives, has over the years carved a niche for himself through his commitment to community development, youth empowerment and legislative advocacy at the national level.
