Oyo state commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Mr Michael Adaralewa has said the command has directed officers and men of the command, including area and divisional officers to give 24hrs surveillance of INEC facilities in the state.
He said the directive was in line with the mandate of the NSCDC and directive from the Controller General, Ahmed Audi.
Mr Adaralewa also advised parents and guardians to warn their wards not to allow themselves to be used as political thugs or agent of destruction before, during and after the forthcoming polls.
He stated this in a chat with newsarena.ng on the command’s preparedness for the 2023 general election.
The Oyo state commandant disclosed that the NSCDC in collaboration with other security agencies in Oyo state would leave no stone unturned to ensure the forthcoming general election is violence free.
Mr Adaralewa also hinted that the command was embarking on training of its men on electoral guidelines, fundamental human rights, professionalism as well as safety of the officers during elections.
He said enough security personnel would be deployed for the election to provide adequate security of lives and property, noting that NSCDC men would be seen at every intervals on major roads during election.

He appealled to residents of Oyo state to come out enmasse during elections and cast their votes without fear or molestation.
