NPHCDA Trains Newly Recruited Workers, Urges Them To Prioritize Self Development

Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, Dr. Muyi Aina has advised the newly recruited staff of the agency to prioritize self-development, assuring that the agency will equip them with the necessary skills and tools to be effective on the job.

Dr. Aina gave the advise in Abuja during a training of 126 newly recruited staff under the its Leadership Development Academy, LDA as part of its commitment to build the capacity of its staff.

In a statement by the Director, Advocacy and Communication Dr. Ladan Aliyu, the NPHCDA boss said that recruitment is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on job creation for Nigerians as a dividend of democracy and to enhance primary health care in Nigeria’.

Earlier at the flag-off of the on boarding and training, the NPHCDA Executive Director and CEO, said the new staff were joining the Agency at a unique moment in Nigeria’s primary health journey and that the President is deeply committed to addressing the historical challenges in the nation’s health sector.

Dr. Aina said “the government, under President Bola Tinubu, has given you a platform to make an impact, serve your country, and advance your own careers. But your success depends on the choices you make, the effort you put in, and the values you uphold”.

“The training is in furtherance of the ongoing transformation of the Agency to position it for effective and accountable implementation of the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (NHSRII), and the Agency ongoing efforts to engender a skilled, motivated and engaged workforce, as articulated in its strategic blueprint, under Dr. Aina’s leadership.”

“The NPHCDA Leadership Development Academy was established in 2019 as a long-term measure to institute an in-house system to continually build the leadership and management skills of mid-level staff for effective performance and delivery of Technical Assistance to States. It has trained four cohorts of new employees and graduated 55 Fellows in two cohorts.
