The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, NCDC, has issued a nationwide advisory on the need to stay calm and vigilant.
The advisory followed the recent reports of Ebola virus disease outbreak reported in Kassai province, Democratic Republic of Congo.

According to a statement, although there is currently no case of Ebola Virus Disease in Nigeria, NCDC is actively monitoring the situation and has put stronger measures in place to protect Nigerians.

The statement reads in part:
“To be safe, we are all advised to:
“Wash your hands regularly with soap, water or use a hand sanitizer.
“Avoid contact with anyone showing fever, vomiting, or unexplained bleeding.
“Do not touch body fluids of sick persons.
“Avoid raw or undercooked bushmeat.
“If you traveled to or from affected countries, watch your health closely and seek help if symptoms appear.
