Media professionals who ruled the media space in the early days of Television and Radio Ɓroadcasting in Nigeria gathered in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital to bid farewell to a woman described as” double firsts’, the first face on television in West Africa, WNTV as well as the first voice on Western Nigeria Broadcasting Service, WNBS Chief Mrs. Anike Agbaje Williams at a special media evening of tributes held in Ibadan to kick start her burial rites.
Younger professionals, family members and friends were also present to witness a nostalgic and special celebration which brought back memories of a great woman of impact.

The roll call of the media professionals included Chief Mrs. Julie Coker, Chief Olu Falomo, Mrs. Bola Alo, Ambassador Yemi Faronbi, Chief Bisi Adesola, Mr. P.S.O. Taiwo, Chief Bamiji Ojo, Elder Yanju Adegbite, Prince Dotun Oyelade among others.

There was a special delegation from Osun state of those who had worked with the deceased at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, BCOS before the creation of Osun State. They included Mr. Smollett Shittu-Alamu and Prince Wole Oyebamiji who eulogized her for her sterling qualities.
The fair skinned Anike Agbaje- Williams in the course of her professional life mentored many broadcasters, some of whom also came to pay their last respect to a woman described as beautiful inside and outside.
Mrs. Banji Sokoya, Mrs. Banjo Alabi and Mrs. Yetunde Longe, daughters of Chief Mrs Anike Agbaje-Williams described their mother as a loving and devoted mother who contributed immensely to their successes in life.
Those who spoke at the two-hour event were unanimous about the fact that the late Chief Mrs Anike Agbaje-Williams was a trail blazing media icon and great lover of the Arts who would be remembered for her professionalism, firmness, hardwork, care and love for God and humanity.
Highlights of the event was a special documentary packaged by Shade Haastrup and Yanju Adegbite featuring the deceased telling the story of her life.
