Ogun state Police Command has arrested one Sholola Kazeem, in Owode Egba area of the state over a gender-based violence and assault against his wife.
In a statement by the Command Public Relations Officer, Ms Omolola Odutola explained that the suspect was arrested when Owode divisional police officers received a report from members of Ring Road community regarding an incident involving a male resident, and his wife, Sholola Mutiat, who reside at the same address.
Ms Odutola said It was reported that Sholola Kazeem, in an uncontrollable anger over a misunderstanding, poured a hot vegetables oil over his wife’s body and stabbed her in the head.
The suspect action caused various injuries on the woman body leading her to be admitted at a private hospital.
The Police Image Maker said the suspect is currently under investigation and would be charged to court Sooner.
