Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has inaugurated the Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan upgrade project committee to oversee upgrade of the facility to international standard.
The committee is headed by a former Commissioner of Finance, Mr Bimbo Adekambi.
Inaugurating the committee at the Executive Chamber, Secretariat, Ibadan, Governor Makinde said the inauguration marks a significant step towards the development of the Ladoke Akintola International Airport, Ibadan.
The Governor explained that the committee which has a former Managing Director of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Alhaji Kabir Yusuf, an entrepreneur and legal luminary, Dr Wale Babalakin and three officers from the Nigerian Air Force were selected based on competence and positive track record
Part of their immediate task include stakeholders engagement and preconstruction activities such as contractor selection and mobilisation, overseeing procurements, site clearing activities and ensuring that everything is ready for the project’s commencement.
