Makinde, Atiku’s Renewed Engagement Is A Strategic Political Devt – Oyo Guber Aspirant, Odidiomo

The renewed engagement between former vice president, Atiku Abubakar and Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has been described as a strategic political development with far reaching implications ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, member representing Ibadan north-west/Ibadan south-west federal constituency of Oyo state in the House of Representatives, said this while fielding questions from newsmen on the recent development.

Olajide Odidiomo, noted that the meeting between the major stakeholders from both the PDP and ADC, remains critical to the chances of opposition political parties in future elections.

He stressed that collective interest must over ride individual differences, for Nigeria to thrive as a democratic nation.

“This is a positive development for the future of democracy in our nation. What Nigerians expect at this point is maturity in leadership and this is what we are witnessing today.”

The federal lawmaker emphasized that the evolving political climate calls for strategic alignment among opposition leaders, adding that cohesion across the different political divide would ultimately translate into electoral strength.

Olajide said, political rapprochement ahead of the 2027 general elections, coming against the backdrop of a previously strained relationship between both leaders, is a positive mark towards the beginning of realignments among opposition leaders, with potential implications for both national politics and the sustenance of democratic governance in the country.
