A staff member of Boluwaduro Local Government Area in Osun State, Mrs. Felicia Olaojo, has been arrested by security operatives over an alleged attempt to steal government properties from the council secretariat.
According to a statement issued by the Media Assistant to the Chairman of Boluwaduro Local Government, Mr. Saheed Omokanye, the arrest followed reports that the staff allegedly attempted to smuggle government-owned items and sensitive official documents out of the council premises.
Mr. Omokanye explained that Mrs. Olaojo was intercepted by security personnel while trying to move the items through the perimeter fence of the local government secretariat, thereby, raising suspicion among officers on duty.
He stressed that, upon prompt response, the security operatives stopped her and recovered several government properties found in her possession.
Mr. Omokanye added that Mrs. Olaojo has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
