JUST IN: Oloye Adegoke Secures ADC Governorship Ticket For Oyo 2027, Calls For Unity

By Seth Omotade

Businessman and philanthropist, Olooye Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke, has secured the governorship ticket of the African Democratic Congress for the 2027 election in Oyo State after emerging victorious in the party’s primary election held across the state.

The results, announced on Saturday by the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, Hon. Rasak Salinsil, showed that Adegoke garnered 16,051 votes to defeat four other contenders in the race.

According to the committee, Chief Bisi Ilaka came second with 11,415 votes, while Chief Gbemilade Alagbe scored 241 votes. Dr. Azeez Adeduntan received 155 votes, with Barrister Niyi Aborishade polling 67 votes.

With the victory, Olooye Adegoke, who holds the title of Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, will represent the ADC in the February 2027 governorship and State House of Assembly elections in Oyo State.

Explaining the delay in releasing the final outcome of the exercise, Hon. Salinsil attributed it to the large geographical spread of the state, noting that some results only arrived on Saturday afternoon.
