Police has confirmed the discovery of a number of children in an underground apartment of a church in Ondo state.
No fewer than 50 children were rescued from the underground apartment in the church at Valentino area, Ondo town.
Newsarena.ng gathered that the pastor of the church and other accomplices have been arrested by police detectives in the town
In a viral video, the children were seen in a patrol vehicle of the police who took them to the police station.
Confirming the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, said the victims had been taken to the State CID in Akure headquarters of the command.
The PPRO who briefed newsmen gave the name of the Pastor, who is in charge of ‘The whole Bible deliverance Church’, as David Anifowose.
The suspects have been alleged of abducting over thirty persons including children.
Mrs Odunlami said the arrest followed complaints of some parents who reported the case to the police in Ondo town.
According to the police spokesperson, Parents of the children forcefully moblised to the church and invited the police to arrest the pastor and his assistant.
Newsarena.ng also gathered that some of the children and their parents were attending the Church before the incident happened.
