However, José Peseiro’s team won the rematch thanks to Moses Simon’s first penalty.
The result takes Nigeria back to the top of Group A with nine points. They now have two more than Guinea-Bissau.
It also ended a four-match losing streak for the three-time African champions.
Sierra Leone occupy third place with five points, while Sao Tome and Principe have just one point
