June 12: Niran Adeyoju ‘SDM’, Felicitates Nigerians, President Tinubu • Stresses Importance Of Building On Gains Of Democracy.
In a heartfelt message on the occasion of Nigeria’s Democracy Day, the President of the Providence Coalition, a socio-political group in Oyo state, Prince Niran Adeyoju “SDM”, has extended warm congratulations to Nigerians and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, marking the significance of June 12 as a day of profound historical importance for the nation.
Niran Adeyoju, who is also an advocate for peace and democracy, lauded the resilience of Nigerians who have continued to champion democracy, despite the country’s challenges.

In a statement released by the coalition publicity secretary, Elder David Oluokun, Prince Adeyoju emphasized that June 12 not only represents the day that democracy was restored but also serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by individuals, families, and groups who fought for a free and fair electoral system.

“On this monumental day, I felicitate with all Nigerians, as well as our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for steering the ship of the country in this new era of our democratic journey. June 12 is more than just a date; it’s a symbol of our collective aspiration for a united, just, and prosperous nation. The struggle, the pain, and the triumphs that defined this day resonate in every corner of Nigeria,” Adeyoju stated.
Prince Adeyoju, the co founder of Oyo APC Peace Advocates further called for unity and greater national cohesion, stressing the importance of building on the gains of democracy.
He urged the Nigerian government to continue its efforts to strengthen democratic institutions, uphold the rule of law, and foster an environment conducive to economic growth and social justice.
“This is a time to reflect on how far we have come and to acknowledge the progress we’ve made. But it’s also an opportunity to chart a course for the future.
“We must all work together to ensure that the ideals of democracy, fairness, and equity continue to shine as the bedrock of our great nation,” Adeyoju said.
The June 12 celebration marks the anniversary of the annulled 1993 presidential election, widely regarded as the freest and fairest election in Nigeria’s history, in which Moshood Abiola, a businessman and philanthropist, was believed to have won.
