Int’l Migrants’ Day: CSO Urges FG, Oyo Govt To Approve Newly Revised Nat’l Migration Policy

The Civil Society Network on Migration & Development, CSOnetMADE, Oyo State has called for the proactive effort of the Federal Government to approve the newly revised National Migration Policy.
The state coordinator Dr. Olatunji Oluwabukola made the call in a statement to commemorate this year’s International Migrants Day

Dr. Olatunji also imployed the Oyo State Government to adopt and implement the National Migration Governance System in the State as a bold step in the fourth level coordination of the National Migration Governance system.

Describing this year’s international migration day celebrated annually on 18th of December with the theme “My Great Story: Cultures and Development.” Dr. Olatunji said the day is meant to highlight “how human mobility drives growth, enriches societies and helps communities connect, adapt, and support one another.”
He also stressed that the domestication of the National Migration Policy in Oyo State will solve and proffer solutions to all migration issues confronting the populace in Oyo State.
Dr Olatunji assured the Government at all levels of support as a coalition in the State and beyond.
