Ife Progressive Forum, IPF, Elects First Female President, Other Exco Members
...Appoints Prince S.T.Abiodun As Media Aide
The Ife Progressive Forum ( IPF) has elected new officers to pilot it’s affairs for the next three years.
At the end of the election held last weekend at the Oba Sijuwade Memorial Hall, Ile Ife, Chief Mrs Olajumoke Olatunmbi emerged President.
She was returned unopposed alongside some other members of the EXCO.
Mrs Olatunmbi thus becomes the first female President of the highly prestigious IPF.
In her acceptance speech, she promised total dedication and commitment to Ife affairs.
She sought the cooperation and support of members of the Forum and all Ife Clubs and Associations in Nigeria and in the diaspora.
The new President promised transparent administration emphasising the need for enduring peace and unity in Ile Ife and it’s environs.
Chief Mrs Olatunmbi announced the constitution of a 5 -man advisory Committee comprising of a former President of the Forum, Chief Olajire Awowoyin, the immediate past President of the Forum, Dr Gbola Famoriyo, Mr John Elugbade, President of Great Ife Movement; Barrister Femi Oyeyinka and President of Ife Youth Organisation; Mr Abimbola Oladimeji.
In addition the new IPF President announced the appointment of Prince S.T.Abiodun as Special Adviser ( Media And Publicity ) to the Forum.
Other members of the medical team are Mr Moses Odunmorayo , Secretary of The Ife Intellectual ( TII) and another member from TII.
A brief meeting was later held where members commended and appreciated past leaders of the IPF also known as Ife Action Council.
They prayed for the new EXCO and offered pieces of advice capable of taking Ile Ife to the expected level .
Mr Adetomi Adedeji had earlier defeated Mr Adeyera Adebomi to emerge Vice President 1 of the Forum.
